DD26 – The Great Mouse Detective (1986)

There’s no replacing Mickey Mouse, but if he ever needed a sick day, Basil – aka The Great Mouse Detective – would be up to the task. This charismatic rodent and his trusty sidekick Dawson (who he literally JUST met) are here to take on the evil Ratigan and save the day – and the Dummies are along for the hunt!

DD25 – The Black Cauldron (1985)

If there’s one Disney movie you’ve never seen, it’s probably The Black Cauldron, and it’s worth a watch to understand why. This film has got it all: magic pigs; inconsistent accents; sacrificial sidekicks; glowing orbs that have nothing to do with the plot. Tune in as the Dummies unpack this head-scratcher of a story and take a deep dive into one of Disney’s greatest unsung heroes: Gurgi.

DD24 – The Fox and the Hound (1981)

Sometimes the people you love most will break your heart – and Disney isn’t afraid to let you know it. The Fox and the Hound will have you falling for Tod and Copper’s perfect little inter-species friendship, but be warned – you’re in for a classic tale of grown-ups’ prejudices getting in the way of kids being kids. Cry along with the Dummies as they get walloped by this emotional gut punch of a film.

DD23 – The Rescuers (1977)

Everybody needs a little rescuing – and that’s especially true if you’re an orphaned six-year-old who’s been kidnapped by a real monster of a woman and forced underground to look for a giant pirate diamond. But not to fear: Bianca, Bernard, and the Rescue Aid Society are here! This week the Dummies follow our plucky little mice heroes as they fearlessly confront one of Disney’s baddest villains and her crocodile cronies in The Rescuers!

DD22 – The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (1977)

It’s Winnie the Pooh, and the Dummies too! Venture into the hundred-acre wood with the Disney Dummies and their favourite stuffed bear as they down gallons of honey, do some thinking at the Thotful Spot, and bounce their worries away in The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh!

DD21 – Robin Hood (1973)

Steal from the rich, give to the poor, and never forget that Robin Hood is a total thirst trap – that’s the motto the Disney Dummies live by! Dance through Nottingham Forest with us as we drink in this charismatic fox and his band of merry friends, taking on the evil Sheriff and whiny Prince John as they restore justice to England in the name of the rightful king. Oo-de-lally, indeed!

DD20 – The Aristocats (1970)

Think learning your scales and arpeggios isn’t important? Think again! This week, your favourite cool cats (the Disney Dummies!) are checking out a clowder of even cooler ones – the Aristocats! Groove along to some swingin’ tunes as we’re transported back to Paris in 1910, where jazz was hot, and cats could talk!

DD19 – The Jungle Book (1967)

They say life’s a jungle, and in The Jungle Book, that’s literally true. Best pals Baloo and Bagheera are along for the ride as the Disney Dummies accompany our main not-quite-a-man Mowgli across swinging vines and down roaring rivers, all while dodging the clutches of the evil Shere Khan.

DD18 – The Sword in the Stone (1963)

If you’re looking for something sword-forward, we’re sorry to say that The Sword in the Stone, weirdly, might not be for you. But if you’re hoping to spend some time learning about magic and goodness and maybe, just maybe, making a few friends along the way, then Merlin, Wart, and the Dummies invite you along for a wild ride!
