God of War is by far the game of the year. Every moment of that game was mind-blowing. The animations were on point, voice acting was solid, and the interchange between Kratos and Atreus was very well written. Walking around and exploring outside the main story mission led to interesting back
story and conversations between the two that just showed the depth of the story that Sony’s Santa Monica studio created. The game itself had me coming back for more, exploring all the areas I could and continuing to play past the game’s completion. With the recent addition of New Game+ it may
be time to pick it back up again and attempt my second run on the hardest difficulty!

Spiderman comes in for a close second. It was a very polished game that brought back a lot of nostalgia to playing the old Spiderman games. Webswinging was fluid and exactly what you wanted. You could swing around the town for ages and never get tired of it. Combat was good, and story/graphics
were really good. It just got a tad repetitive which took away from the enjoyment a bit.

Ni No Kuni 2 was an underrated RPG that released this year. It is not a direct follow up to the first one, but does have some continuations from
the first. They redid how combat is done, and it was a really smart decision. Combat is really well done, story is interesting, and flow of the game is
very nice.

While I haven’t played Red Dead Redemption personally, I have watched a lot of game play on it (including watching Tuong play on his stream here, shameless plugs), and was very impressed with the game itself. It has a great open world feel to it, with interesting characters, story, and overall game play.
Definitely plan on picking this up when it hits PC for 2019 (2019 game of the year contender?)

Visage was a very interesting release. It is a horror game that is a spiritual successor to the recently removed P.T (Silent Hills playable teaser that got axed
unfortunately). It is a very well done game that is super spooky and definitely feels like P.T. For those that enjoyed the P.T demo, I suggest giving this
game a go! (plus it contains some really neat easter eggs, go find them!)
